Our Chemotherapy Unit is designed to provide a spacious, calm, and comfortable environment for patients.

The service provides oral and intravenous cytotoxic therapies, biological therapies, and supportive therapies to adults.

It is largely consultant led with treatments prescribed by visiting consultant oncologists from the cancer centres at Southampton and Portsmouth, and our consultant haematologists who are based at St Mary’s Hospital.

We have an oncology staff grade doctor who is a permanent based at St Mary’s Hospital who reviews patients, that are unwell, when their consultant is not present on the Isle of Wight, and reviews chemotherapy patients who are admitted to the general medical or surgical wards.

Referral to the unit is via our oncology or haematology consultants.

There is an answer phone service for routine messages and out of hours, however, in an emergency, please call NHS 111 or 999 for assistance.
